I was browsing some of the Presidential candidates' MySpace profiles. I know, it's a bit of an odd thing to do, especially since my favorite part of it is reading the crazy comments added by winger nutjobs on Brownback's page (or McCain's, or Romney's, or.. you get the idea).
But wait! Scandal awaits below the fold, and it doesn't even involve bashing fellow Democrats!
I was eager to check out Rudy Giuliani's page-- would I find a picture or two of Rudy in drag? Or would I enjoy reading paeans to Rudy's 9/11 "leadership"? Or maybe there would be some real fireworks: say, wingers venting spleen over Rudy's flipflops on their bread and butter issues. The possibilities seemed endless, and endlessly exciting.
But no.
Come to find out, Rudy's MySpace profile is "private." One has to add Rudy as a "friend" before seeing his profile. This is the case for exactly NONE of the other candidates, Democrats and Republicans alike. And this isn't just some short-term glitch I stumbled upon: it's been like this for days.
It raises the question: what is Rudy afraid of? Does he not have enough staff to filter comments? Does he think he'd be overwhelmed with angry wingnut attacks?
If you'll pardon my saying so, this is a REAL MySpace scandal.
It almost makes me curious enough about Rudy's hidden profile to add him as a friend. Almost...
